Multimedia University of Kenya recorded impressive results in the recently announced 2020/2021 Performance Contracting rankings on the Performance Evaluation report of Ministries, State Corporations and Tertiary Institutions for the Financial Year 2020/2021 released by the G.O.K through the Ministry of Public Service and Gender-(Public Service Performance Management & Monitoring Unit) in May 2021.
MMU was among the top, ten best performing Public Universities country-wide.
The university attained a score category of Very Good at position (10) out of thirty-Eight (38) Public Universities retaining the Top ten position Recorded in the last financial year and position twenty-Five (25) nationally among two hundred thirty-nine (239) State Corporations in Kenya.
According to the Vice-Chancellor Amb. Prof. Festus Kaberia, the University generally improved in performance evaluation raw score in 2020/2021, moving from position 28 in (2019/2020), nationally to position 25 in 2020/12021.
“MMU’s steady upward progress in these rankings despite many challenges including the effect of Covid-19 which highly affected University Operations in the period under review is a welcome recognition and an indicator that our reputation and our success in the attainment of our Vision and Mission are steadily on the rise,” said the VC.
He thanked the Government of Kenya, University Council, Management, Staff and Students whose contribution and teamwork have put the university on a steady growth.
